License

yasmine is available under a dual licensing model. One license type is for commercial (english version) use, the other one for private and scientific (english version) use. The appendix describes what libraries and programs are covered by the license. It is bi-lingual (German and English) and is the very same for both licenses.

At the moment the license texts are available in German and English.

If you have any questions or if you have specific needs just contact us via yasmine@seadex.de or post at our forums at http://seadex.de/forums.

The licenses are also available as PDF in our downloads section.

License updates

Third update

On April 6, 2017 we updated the licenses.

Minor changes to the wording were made. Also improvement to the licenses were made which promote and simplify the reuse of them for other projects. Finally an appendix was added that explicitly states what components are covered by the license and it contains information about 3rd party licenses (if applicable).

This license is used since the release of libyasmine 1.1.1.

Second update

On August 4, 2016 the licenses were updated again .

The licenses no longer refer to the MIT license, but instead directly contain corresponding clauses. yasmine Beta 0.2.0 is the first version to use this license.

First update

On July 20, 2016 we updated our licenses.

The following changes were made to the Licence Conditions and Terms of Use for Commercial Purposes:

  • Registration is now voluntary (§2 (2)).

  • Duties of the user (§6) was removed.

  • The consequences of breaching the provisions of the Terms of Use were relaxed. Instead of having to delete all copies of the library, now just the further use is strictly prohibited.
This fixes potential issues where you would have to remove copies from your backups (§4 (11), §4 (12)).

The following changes were made to the Licence Conditions and Terms of Use for Commercial Purposes:

  • Third-party software, open source software (§5) was added.
This part explains what it means for you if we incorporate third-party software into yasmine.

  • The consequences of breaching the provisions of the Terms of Use were relaxed. Instead of having to delete all copies of the library, now just the further use is strictly prohibited.
This fixes potential issues where you would have to remove copies from your backups (§3 (3)).
